Skincare for Blemish-Prone Skin

A routine for breakout-prone, congested skin: a gentle low-pH cleanser, an azelaic acid or tea tree toner or serum, a light moisturizer and daily sunscreen. For a spot that pops up overnight, cover it with an S.O.S pimple patch to protect it and keep your hands off. Shiny too? See skincare for oily skin.

How to choose skincare for blemish-prone skin

This edit brings together Korean serums and toners from iUNIK and Medicube, plus koréos Originals like S.O.S Stick On Spots. Start with how your skin feels. If it is oily and congested, the Medicube Azelaic Acid Niacinamide Deep Clean Foam Cleanser and Clear Toner help keep shine in check. If breakouts come with redness or tightness, the iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Toner and Serum or the Anua Azelaic Acid 10 Hyaluron Redness Soothing Serum add hydration along with centella.

S.O.S patches are Only at koréos. They are 100% hydrocolloid, waterproof and can be worn under makeup. Choose the invisible Regular patch, the multi-size Mixy for face and body, or the colorful shapes of FUN.

When should I use a pimple patch?

Place a patch on a clean, dry spot, day or night. It covers the area, helps absorb oil and impurities and keeps fingers away while the spot settles.

Can I use azelaic acid and niacinamide together?

Yes. Several Medicube and Anua formulas here already pair them. Start with one product once a day and build up as your skin gets used to it.

Should I patch test?

We recommend it, especially with acids or if your skin is sensitive. Apply a small amount behind the ear or on the inner arm for 24-48 hours and stop use if irritation occurs.

How to use it in your routine

Morning: gentle cleanser, toner, a light serum, moisturizer and SPF. Night: cleanse, serum, moisturizer, then a patch on any spot. Pick a wash from cleansers, a lightweight layer from moisturizers and daily SPF from sun care. Shiny all day? See oily skin, or start with a ready-made breakout-prone skin routine.
