How to choose a Korean toner
Think of toner as the first sip of water after cleansing. Dry or sensitive skin tends to like calming, low-key formulas such as the Pyunkang Yul Calming Deep Moisture Toner or the iUNIK Tea Tree Relief Toner. Oily and combination skin may prefer the fragrance-free, bi-phase I’m From Black Rice Toner or the heartleaf-based Abib Heartleaf Calming Toner Skin Booster.
Want smoother-looking texture? The Jumiso Niacinamide 2+ Pore Smoothing Toner pairs niacinamide with gentle acids. For a dewy glow, the Numbuzin No.9 NAD PDRN Glow Boosting Toner has an essence-like feel, and the classic I’m From Rice Toner is built around rice extract.
Do I need a toner if I already use a serum?
It is optional, but a hydrating toner gives skin a first layer of moisture, so the serum and cream that follow spread more easily.
Cotton pad or hands?
Pat hydrating toners in with clean palms. Toners with acids are often easier to sweep on with a cotton pad. Shake bi-phase formulas, like the Black Rice Toner, before each use.
Can I use an exfoliating toner every day?
Start a few times a week and patch test first. Products with AHAs or BHAs can increase sun sensitivity, so wear sunscreen daily.
Can I return a toner I opened?
For hygiene reasons, we accept returns of unopened, unused items in their original sealed packaging within 30 days of delivery. Items that arrive damaged, defective or incorrect are the exception.
How to use it in your routine
Toner comes right after your cleanser and before serums and moisturizer. For a layered, dewy look, follow the Glass Skin Routine, or add a face mist during the day.
